Doddoji Ramachari Optical Properties of Nd3+-doped Oxyfluorosilicate Glasses at Terahertz Frequencies

Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy has been used to study the optical properties of ZNbKLS and PbKNLS glasses doped with Nd3+ ions. The absorption coefficients α(ν), and refractive index n(ν), were measured in a frequency range from 0.2 THz to 1.2 THz. The results are compared with material properties.

Yuan-He Teng High power noise-like pulses generated by two core sizes gain fibers in an all-normal dispersion cavity

We have designed a high power fiber laser cavity to generate noise-like pulses. Two ytterbium doped fibers with 10 μm and 30 μm core sizes were employed in an attempt to acquire higher output power. The highest average output power was 1.93 W with repetition rate 10.6 MHz.

Tsung-Yin Tsai Analyzing the band structure of InAs/InAsSb type II super lattice for mid and far infrared application

Strain-balanced type-II InAs/InAsSb on GaSb substrate were designed for mid- and long-wavelength photodetectors. In our work, we develop a 8X8 k.p Schrodinger model to calculate the band structure of InAs/InAs0.62Sb0.38 T2SL, and a period of the superlattice consist of 13.9nm InAs layer and 4.5nm InAs0.62Sb0.38 layer.

Chun-Yan Lin Wave Localization With Curved Potentials

To link the effect of geometry on wave propagation, we study wave localization in different geometric constraints, including parabola, hyperbola, S-shape, spiral and cardioid curves. Wave localization as the eigen-states in the trap potential are found numerically, then mapping back to the two-dimensional curved space.

Chi-Pin Chiu Bistability Depending on the Modulation Frequency in a Pump-modulation Solid-State Laser

Optical bistability depending on the modulation frequency was explored in a pump-modulation Nd:YVO4 laser. When the laser operated around the degenerate cavity cofiguration, the amplitude fluctuation and the phase differences between modulation signals and lasing light is bistable by tuning the modulation frequecy.

This study reports a simple way to observe high-order transverse Hermit-Gaussian modes by adjusting the laser cavity length and pumping position for tuning the cavity mode size and pumped mode size in a diode-end-pumped solid-state laser system.

Chi-Wei Wang Temperature Dependent Charge Control Model Of AlGaAs/GaAs/InGaAs Quantum-Well Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor

In this paper, we present a temperature-dependent charge control model of AlGaAs/GaAs/InGaAs Quantum-Well Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (QW-HBT). Based on modified thermionic theory, a modified temperature-charge-control mode is developed. There is a fairly good agreement between the theory and the experiment.

Yao-Ching Chiu Utilization of femtosecond pump-probe technique on real time monitoring of ITO glass annealing

Femtosecond laser annealing is more selective than high-temperature annealing, applying it on multiple-layer elements can selectively anneal specific area and avoid excessive heat damaging other areas. We applying pump beam as the annealing source and probe beam to the real-time monitor the change of ITO transmittance.

Yuan-He Teng Characterization of POFC 30-μm-core Yb-doped active fiber

We report characteristics of the first large-core Yb-doped active fiber manufacture in Taiwan. These fibers exhibit characteristics or superior to comparable commercial productions.
