We presents a method based on Markov random field (MRF) analysis to automatically and effectively extract the first-order component with irregular distribution in the spectral domain for improvement of three-dimensional (3D) surface reconstruction in Fourier transform profilometry (FTP).

Siou-Jhih Lin 3D Layered Imaging Using Diffractive Optical Elements Designed by Iterative Angular Spectrum Algorithm

We present a method to generating three-dimensional images composed of a sequence of two-dimensional (2D) images appearing at different distances. The 2D images are the near-field images of phase-only diffractive optical elements (DOEs) designed by the iterative angular spectrum algorithm, which are spatially interleaved in a large DOE.

Fan-Hsi Hsu Radial Polarizers of Substrate-mode Volume Hologram

A holographic radial polarizers which can generate radially polarized beam is fabricated by a prism-hologram-prism sandwiched recording method. With a continuously separated fan-shaped exposure regions on the substrate-mode volume holograms, the fabrications of holographic radial polarizers is achieved. The proposed holographic radial polarizer has considerable potential for relevant applications.

SUNIL VYAS Simultaneous Generation of Airy and Dual Airy beams from Multiplexed Volume Holographic Gratings

Utilizing three defining properties of volume holograms, namely, angular selectivity, angle-wavelength coupling degeneracy, and multiplexing capability; here, we experimentally demonstrate simultaneous generation of Airy and Dual Airy beams from multiplexed volume holographic gratings (MVHGs). These MVHGs acts as wavelength-independent mode shaper and can be used to make compact optical systems.

Yi-An Lin 3D Shape Scanning Profilometer with Binary Grid Projected Pattern

A projected binary grid pattern for 3D shape measurements is proposed. The limited depth-of-focus information from the focused area can be clearly observed. By assembling the surface contours from in-focused projected fringes with their corresponding depths, the 3D shape profile of the inspected object can be retrieved

Chuan-Feng Kuo Size Correction and Alignment in Holograms with Modified Gerchberg-Saxton Algorithm

The different wave length and the diffraction angle would result in the larger offset so that the CGH image cannot be overlapped. Based on MGSA, we propose the ratio modify and multi-position method to realize the size correction and alignment.

Chia Ming Chang Electrical Droplet Manipulation on Liquid Crystal and Polymer Composite Film

The surface free energy of liquid crystal and polymer composite films (LCPCF) is electrically tunable. The contact angle hysteresis with different surface morphology was examined. Also, the droplet motion induced by applying inhomogeneous electric field was investigated. The study can provide design guidelines for droplet manipulation devices.

Chia Ming Chang Liquid Crystal Optical Devices for Low Level Light Therapy

In low level light therapies (LLLT), the treatment effect depends on wavelength and energy density. We demonstrated an optical system that exhibits both of electrically tunable wavelength and exposure area. The optical system can be switched in three wavelength modes. The exposure area can be tuned continuously by LC lens.
