Multi-channel micro lens array is an optical concept for stitching digital image. The 3x3 matrix formalism is used exemplarily to trace a paraxial ray through an off–axis thin lens with the focal length f .And we use ZEMAX to present the simulation.

Shu-Chi Chen Award Candidate Inkjet printing technique for fabrication of microlens arrays

Microlens array are much more popular nowaday. Inkjet printing is one of the methods to fabricate the MLAs. This way, compare to thermal reflow, can precisely control the positions and the sizes for each channel in the MLAs by inkjet printing with different numbers of drops.

An optical retro-reflector is designed to feedback an incident light to the upward 0.2 direction with respect to the light direction in order to meet the requirement of US SAE regulations.The retro-reflector is composed of an array of pins arranged in parallel,which orientation is decided to maximize the retro-reflection efficiency

Jia-Ming Zhang Award Candidate Optical Design of Ultra-Wide-Angle Zoom Lens System

The study proposes ultra-wide-angle lens system with three zoom settings; the field of views (FOVs) of the three settings are 170°, 160°, and 150°. As a simulation results, when the spatial frequency is 180 lp/mm, the modulation transfer functions in response to the various FOVs all exceeded 37%.

In this study, an optical standing-wave interferometer based on scattered light is proposed. By inserting two ultra-thin scattering plates into the optical standing wave field and detecting the scattered light. Using two detectors to receive the interference signal and resolved the phase of the signal and calculate the displacement.

Ruey-Ching Twu Lens Transducer for Optical Displacement Measurement

In this study, a positive lens is proposed as an angle transducer to be applied on a displacement measurement by utilizing an optical angle sensor (OAS) in a homodyne interferometer. The OAS was fabricated by inserting a potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) plate in a cubic container filled with glycerin liquid.

Jo-Yu Chao Effect of paper material on reading clarity

We found in this study that paper can have impact on clarity of reading. Besides, the clarity is effective by the level of illuminance. Among the 12 paper studied cloud paper can provide the best reading clarity. Furthermore, we found the 150 lx illuminance can provide the best reading clarity.

Cheng-Wei Hsu The collimator, symmetrical condenser and asymmetric condenser lighting systems on the digital micro-mirror display for analysis and comparison of efficiency and uniformity

Efficiency and uniformity are analyzed on the Digital Micro-mirror Display for three systems. The efficiency of the collimator is 44.11% with average deviation of 4.49%, that of the symmetrical condenser is 42.35% with average deviation of 2.54% and that of the asymmetric condenser is 56.13% with average deviation of 3.31%.
